The Nokia 6710 Navigator is a slider phone with a 2.6 inch QVGA screen and an extraordinary turn to the phone, giving it the nickname the "banana phone" in certain neighborhoods. It is a full HSDPA / HSUPA (3.5G) phone that also comes with GPS and Nokia Maps 3.0, Compass, UPnP, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0. The 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics complement the basic specifications.

Naturally, it has been designed with navigation in mind with a dedicated button underneath the D-Pad which allows to draw maps instantly.Once loaded you simply use the D-Pad to navigate the map and get access to the promenade and options of the car.

Meanwhile, Nokia N86 8 MP is also a device with two slider with full support for HSDPA. In addition, it also sports a 2.6 inch screen but this phone is intended for amateur photography, the screen is an OLED screen active matrix, so you get the best possible image quality.

Love the Apple iPhone unlock screen, but don’t fancy going through all that iPhone/iTunes rigmarole? Just stick nUnLock on your Nokia and get.. well, if not exactly the next best thing then probably the next, next, next best thing. Big clock, big slider (use the D-Pad due to the lack a touchscreen) and a configurable background and font colour. Job done.

AppLocker If you lend your phone out to other people to use or – especially – if you have young children who like to play games on your phone, you might want to restrict what they are allowed to do with it. AppLocker will let you stop certain apps from being run on your phone without permission – when the app is running, named apps will pop up a dialog asking for a PIN code. If the code is correct, the app will run as normal. If not, no dice.

MeGo mSafe is a general-purpose data ‘wallet’ for keeping important information secret. Everything from your National Insurance and passport number to secure passwords and bank pin numbers can be stored using one of the pre-made templates or using a  custom form. All you data is held behind one single password, so you no longer loads of different security details to remember.

Random Website Experience the serendipitous Web – Random Website is a simple widget with a simple, rather self-explanatory, task. Give it a tap and your web browser will launch, taking you to a random destination. The results will not always be useful, or even readable (an IBM technote on XML? Thanks!) but in the short time we used this app, they were rarely boring. We presume there is some kind of adult content filter in place but, well you never know so best check over your shoulder if you try this on the train.
