Omnia Pro Hardware Overview.
I haven’t started the breakdown on the Omnia Pro Web experience yet but I can say it’s leaning towards ‘browsing’ rather than ‘Web2.0’ which really doesn’t bode well for people looking for the full internet experience. The keyboard is nice though and way better than the one on my Nokia N810. It’s not as good as the king of smartphone keyboards, the HTC Touch Pro2 but it’s good. I have some gripes about the exposed camera lens and the less-than-rugged touchscreen plastic but the main problem for me is the corner-cutting needed to squeeze everything into the small form factor.Convergence I mentioned in my last post and the Pro Omnia is a classic example. A camera without a lens cover. WVGA screen that needs to zoom in to read web pages. A video editor who recompresses the video at a very low quality. A DNLP / UPnP network drive that does not support video resolutions and large size, which to be honest, it's really too big for my 24 / 7 jeans pocket.
The Omnia Pro smartphone is a great and better than the smartphones I've tested in the past. It will impress anyone seeking such a device to pack a huge amount of function in a sheet, form factor elegant pocket.MID and UMPC manufacturers have much to learn from it and similar devices.
The quality of the AMOLED display is amazing in an indoor environment and as a tool of microblogging and Twitter, it is superb. The shots on the screen keyboard away everything you use on a Windows underway and it is tied together with a beautiful (WM6.1 very visible on this!) Finger based user interface. Battery life appears and guides you through a connected (although relatively inactive) day.
I will work through the Omnia Pro in the coming weeks (and it takes for the Maemo summit for a head to head with the N900) So stay tuned. This will be an interesting journey. The first of my videos. It covers the Omnia Pro hardware....

More Nokia tablet rumors appear, could be on track for late 2012 launch

A new rumor has surfaced concerning a Nokia tablet, with supply chain sources indicating the company could be planning to release a 10-inch, dual-core model running Windows 8 by the end of the year
Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Nokia is said to be preparing a tablet for launch at the end of the year. Talk of the Finnish company coming out with a tablet has been circulating for sometime, and it’s not just idle speculation either, as several top Nokia executives have chatted about such a device already.
This time the rumor comes from Digitimes.com , a site known for both accurate and not-so accurate hardware predictions, but given its report expands on what we’ve already heard, it’s worthy of our attention. Quoting sources in the component supply chain, Nokia is said to have a 10-inch tablet running on a dual-core Qualcomm processor in the works, with an expected release window of the fourth quarter this year.
