Best Buy Mobile Introduces the New mIQ Mobile-Web Connected Cloud Service
Best Buy Mobile has announced the launch of MIQ, a new Web service that allows smartphone users to take information captured on their mobile device and accessed from an easy to use Web interface on n ' any computer. Once a user signs up for this free service - contacts, text messages, calendar events, calls, photos, videos and phone settings - are perfectly transferred from the mobile device and safely stored MIQ in a personal account in the cloud. " Best Buy Mobile will offer the new service free for early October 12.
MIQ, available October 12, will come standard with any new client Best Buy Mobile Smartphone through the Walk Out Working in Free Setup smartphone store. Other smartphones users can also subscribe to this free service to http://miqlive.com. The service includes 1GB of storage and is currently compatible with BlackBerry smartphones running, Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 operating systems such as the BlackBerry 9700 Bold Tower, Nokia E71 and N97, HTC 2 Pro, Samsung Omnia II, and T-Mobile Dash 3G.

Optus launches usage-checking app
The new "My Optus" app is available through the iTunes store and Android marketplace for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S and S II post-paid customers and will come preloaded on prepaid handsets such as the Samsung Gio, Huawei X1, the Nokia E71 and the Nokia E63.
It will let post-paid customers contact Optus, check usage, pay bills and turn on global roaming, while prepaid customers will be able to check their balance and usage, talk to Optus, manage "My Time" numbers and turn on global roaming.
Optus clarified that if customers want to check data usage within the last 48 hours, it is best to close and re-open the app.
Telstra is currently developing its own app that will let mobile customers check usage and pay bills, and Vodafone has already unveiled its similarly named "My Vodafone Australia" app that lets post-paid customers view their usage.
The push for better account management tools for customers comes as part of the revised Telecommunications Consumer Protection (TCP) code lodged with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) last month.
