Compared to other brands of touch screen phones like the Nokia 5800XM depends on its excellent performance characteristics and relatively reasonable prices as the main reasons why it is so popular with people, including 3.2 inches, 640x360 pixels , high resolution 16 million color TFT screen and its 16 GB of capacity expansion of micro-SDHC, high-369MHz processor, auto-focus camera, support GPS and WLAN wireless capabilities, combined with two speakers , 3.5 mm headphone jack and other functions. The Nokia 5800XM has essentially inherited from the N-series marks all the powerful features. Nokia N73 (http://frbiz.com/q-Nokia_N73_ /) is not only one of the N current most popular series of phones, but also a success in its N-series phones even obtained a status of classics already. Although the new N Series phones were fully aligned with the market, the N73 is the difference of the N70 fading, still fresh in the minds and continues to sell well. The Nokia N95 is available for over two and a half years, and the phone seems to have fallen into the ranks of mobile phones the most popular, but the machine was able to maintain steady sales performance to reflect the extraordinary strength the phone.Although the Nokia N97 series in national sales, the position of the phone market is weaker, but the low price makes the price of the Nokia N95 continue to maintain a dynamic quite popular, making it an N-Series near Evergreen Family tree behind the N73. Nokia files suit against Apple for patent infringements: expect a ...

The Nokia press release follows below.

For now, let’s expect that Apple’s ingenious team of legal experts will be fighting this for a long time. Here’s hoping they don’t run out of steam (having to recharge their batteries every day) before Nokia’s antiquated team of ancient solicitors falls asleep from the boredom that comes with defending their “new” obviously steal-worthy “technology.”

I love Jon Gruber’s total assessment of this lawsuit: “If you can’t beat ’em, sue ’em.”

Of course, while I was waiting for Apple to replace my iPhone 3GS yesterday, I had time to surf and search and call on my trusty Nokia E71 smartphone, which has a $7 unlimited data plan with Rogers, and has needed to be restarted a grand total of never. Its battery lasts nearly a week. That said, there are no interesting apps to install that don’t require the Nokia to be hacked out of wanting to “sign” them, and I’m talking about legal, functional apps from Nokia’s own sad version of the app store.

So take that, Apple!

October 22, 2009

Espoo, Finland - Nokia announced that it has today filed a complaint against Apple with the Federal District Court in Delaware, alleging that Apple’s iPhone infringes Nokia patents for GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards.

As a leading innovator in wireless communications, Nokia has created one of the strongest and broadest patent portfolios in the industry, investing more than EUR 40 billion in R&D during the last two decades. Much of this intellectual property, including the patents in suit, has been declared essential to industry standards. Nokia has already successfully entered into license agreements including these patents with approximately 40 companies, including virtually all the leading mobile device vendors, allowing the industry to benefit from Nokia’s innovation.

What we brought along for the trip

I couldn't quite make up my mind about what to bring so I brought just about everything. I wasn't sure if there'd be any point in bringing film to Asia but I haven't seen Kodak Portra in any of the stores I've visited so far.

What we'd bring along for the trip if we were leaving today

In these first two weeks I've shot 20 rolls of medium format film, 1500 images with the D70 and a whopping two rolls of 35 mm film.

If I had to lighten my load I'd ditch the following items:
• the Leica and all the 35 mm Portra 400 VC
• the Hasseblad 180...

You Couldn't Make It Up

I was watching TV last night when Watchdog came on. For those that don't know, it's a very good consumer affairs show. They had a segment on exploding Nokia batteries which I felt I should share.

The BL-5C battery (their most popular) is the only one affected. The dodgy...
